Required Background Information

1. What caused your country to enter World War 1? France had an alliance with Russia who had an alliance with Serbia. A Serbian nationalist named Gavrilo Princip assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the heirnto the Austrian throne, and his wife.

2. Were the leaders/people of your country satisfied with the terms of the peace treaty at the end of World War 1? No. Clemenceau, the leader of France at the time, thought that Germany's punishment wasn't harsh enough and he thought that he had failed to achieve all the demands of the French people.

3. What were the high points (best moments) and low points (worst moments) for your country DURING World War 1?
Low Points: 75% of France's soldiers that fought in World War 1 died. France felt like they didn't achieve all their demands in the treaty of Versailles.
High Points: France ended up winning the war. France had a big victory at the Battle of Ypres.
